WCCA Match campaign ends September 1; Concert season begins September 12

After Covid-19 caused the delay of the 84 th season of live concerts, the Waynesboro Community Concert Association is looking forward to resuming concerts on September 12, with The Fabulous Hubcaps.

But before the music begins, the association is wrapping up its endowment fund matching campaign.  While donations to WCCA are always welcomed, monies donated to the WCCA Endowment Fund by September 1, 2021, are being matched by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, in celebration of their founding in 1920.  Donations of any amount may be made by mail to WCCA at PO Box 785, Waynesboro PA 17268 and should be designated WCCA Fund.  They can also be made online at www.waynesboropaconcerts.org.  The Endowment fund is unrestricted, and the income can be used for WCCA concert expenses.

TFEC also manages the WCCA Joseph Bowers Music Scholarship Fund.  The Bowers Fund annually awards a $1000 scholarship to a Waynesboro Area Senior High School graduate who is pursuing a music degree at a college or university.  While contributions to this fund are encouraged, the
scholarship fund is not part of the matching campaign.

The 84 th concert season now includes six concerts, after one artist withdrew from the roster.

The artists who will perform this season include The Fabulous Hubcaps, on September 12; Philadelphia Brass, on October 17; Thomas Pandolfi “American Pop Piano”, on November 7, the Military Appreciation concert; Taylor Red, on November 21; Trio Pacheco, on April 3, 2022, the First Responder and Educators Appreciation concert; and Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra, on May 1, 2022.  All concerts will be held at the WASHS auditorium on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm.

Season tickets are still available for $50 per person at the above mailing address and website.  Individual concert tickets, at $25 per concert, are also available.  Season tickets will be mailed to subscribers in late August.  In addition, season and individual tickets can be purchased at the door the day of each concert.
