What do pottery parties and in-home nursing services have in common? Both are projects offered to Waynesboro residents by the Franklin County Community Foundation (FCCF)!  Each year FCCF helps to fund a wide variety of medical, educational and cultural projects, and in 2020 the Foundation supported the Waynesboro Area Business Education and Community Foundation and Waynesboro Community & Human Services, Inc. with over $10,000 combined funding.

FCCF's $4,700 grant to Waynesboro Area Business Education and Community Foundation (WABEC) supports their Bee the Village project of resource stands, Parent Cafés, and Pottery Parties. This combination of projects addresses family as well as social needs, with the resource stands serving approximately 300 children per month, the Parent Cafés offering counseling sessions to over 400 families, and the Pottery Parties providing creative experiences at the Nicodemus Center to 20 families, 4 times per year.

Waynesboro Community & Human Services' $6,519 grant will support their Community Health Nurse Program that provides in-home nursing services to the most vulnerable adults, improving health outcomes, reducing admissions to the hospital, and protecting the community.

Fourteen other projects benefitting Franklin County residents – from Rails to Trails and Therapeutic Riding for Veterans, to the Diaper Depot and Boys & Girls Club - were also awarded funding in 2020.
