It was never the intention of Brio Coffehouse owners Rodney and Janelle Cool to have a full fledge coffee business brewing.  In 2017 they started out looking for rental space for Rodney’s photography business, Aesthetic Life Studio.  The thought was to have the studio and a small coffee area to help pay the rent and maybe draw in some high school kids to hangout which in turn could lead to senior photo sessions.

During their preliminary planning stage, they were surprised to learn how many people wanted a coffee shop in town.  When they stepped inside 2 East Main Street, they knew the space, with its beautiful architectural design, large widows, and ornate ceilings, was destined for a coffee shop.  From that moment on they set out to learn everything they could about coffee.

Brio, which means vitality and energy in Italian was the name they choose because it coincided with their photography business.  Cool said Brio is life and coffee is one of those things that gives you that burst of energy to start your day.  It is a little cup of happiness, he said.

Cool said they are here to give their customers an experience.  That is just what they are doing with the launch of their Iced Coffee Flights.   You can enjoy samplings of Iced Mocha, Macchiato, Latte and Foam Cold Brew.  Following the trend of breweries, wineries and distilleries, these flights allow friends to come together, sample iced coffees, talk about them and share an experience.

The idea of Coffee Flights presented itself when six totally random customers, within a 24-hour span, sent Brio a photo of a coffee flight that had gone viral.  They decided to try it.  After launching their flight on Instagram, they received 40,000 views and 60,000 views for a second post.  They knew they were on to something.  According to Cool, the flights have added another level to their business and required more staffing because people are now sitting for an hour or so tasting and conversing.  Reservations are highly recommended.   If you want to book your tasting, go to https://www.briocoffeehouse.com/flights

Brio roasts 100% their own coffee and offers an expansive menu of coffees, organic teas from a Pennsylvania grower, Kombucha locally brewed, frozen coffees and hot chocolate and their own crafted expresso blend. You can also enjoy baked goods, scones, muffins, breakfast sandwiches and smoothie bowls.

In a hurry, do not worry!  Brio offers an online ordering App- Brio Go -that allows their customers to get in and out faster than a drive thru. You might be enticed by the big chain coffee houses, but you will not get charm and ambience Brio has to offer. Start your day off right with a little cup of happiness from Brio!
